The Great Blue Hole

The Blue Hole Natural Monument is a top tier snorkelling and diving destination and is part of the Belize Barrier Reef System.

Often referred to as the Great Blue Hole, this monument is actually a huge underwater sinkhole that lies within the Lighthouse Reef Atoll. This circular hole spans 300 meters across (approximately 1000 feet) and 125 meters deep.

It provides scuba divers with one of the most unique diving experiences ever. Explorer Jacques Cousteau called The Great Blue Hole one of the top ten diving destinations in the world.

Below the surface you’re able to swim with several species of sharks and have a look at the huge stalactite and stalagmite formations. Aerial tours allow it’s beauty to be appreciated from up above as well.
