After his first visit to Caye Caulker, Belize in March 2023, Mauricio Herrera, known on stage as ‘Elvis Tico’, fell deeply in love with the island and its people. What was supposed to be a 5-day visit ended in him staying for 3 weeks as he explored the island and discovered its beauty.

His love for Caye Caulker still lives on today, as it inspired him to co-write the song ‘Caye Caulker Belize’ with Brian McWhirter.
In a Facebook post about the song’s release, he says ” ‘Caye Caulker Belize’ is a modern reggae song that I co-wrote with Brian McWhirter. It’s a tribute to the beautiful island of Caye Caulker, its people, and the stunning nature that attracts visitors, some of whom fall in love and decide to stay. The song captures the island’s relaxed, vibrant vibe with professional arrangements that I personally oversaw. It’s my way of sharing the magic of this paradise with the world.”
